VES-EP v1.0 — Veriscopic Evidence Pack Export Profile

This document defines VES-EP v1.0, a Veriscopic-defined technical profile for exporting governance evidence in conformance with the Veriscopic Evidence Standard (VES).

VES-EP specifies a deterministic, time-fixed format enabling third parties to verify that exported governance evidence has not been altered, without relying on the Veriscopic platform.

The normative requirements of VES are defined separately in the Veriscopic Evidence Standard specification.

Scope

VES-EP specifies structure, canonicalisation rules, and cryptographic binding for exported evidence packs generated by Veriscopic.

VES-EP is a conforming implementation profile of VES. Other conforming implementations MAY exist.

VES-EP does not:

  • Certify legal or regulatory compliance
  • Assign risk classifications or ratings
  • Provide legal advice
  • Assess system performance or safety

Core properties

  • Deterministic JSON canonicalization
  • SHA-256 cryptographic hashing
  • Time-fixed evidence snapshots
  • Independent integrity verification

Verification

Verification under VES-EP consists of recomputing the canonical JSON representation of an exported evidence pack and comparing its SHA-256 checksum to the value declared in the pack.

Verification confirms integrity only. Interpretation of evidence remains the responsibility of the reviewing party.
